Adds Two Members to the Board of Directors
BIRMINGHAM, AL— May 8, 2007 — Atherotech, Inc.,
a pioneer in cardiodiagnostic cholesterol testing technology renowned
for its VAP Cholesterol Test, today announced the additions of Laura
G. King and Kenneth M. Roe as independent members to its board of
directors. Most recently, King served as President and CEO of the
$1.2 billion GE Healthcare Interventional Cardiology Business. Roe,
currently retired, last served as Regional Vice President and Operations
Leader for Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, where he oversaw lab
operations exceeding $1 billion in annual revenue.

As President and CEO of GE Healthcare Interventional Business, King,
43, focused on minimally invasive procedures in Cardiology, Interventional
Radiology and Surgery. She began her career with GE Healthcare in
1995 and served as a General Manager in the U.S. and internationally.
King started her career at GE in 1985, working in audit and business
development. From 1992 to 1995, she was CIO of GE Motors and CFO
of GE Consumer and ECM Motors. King is also a recipient of the Jack
Welch Outstanding Women Leaders Award, which she received in 2000.
She earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California
at Davis.
Roe, 55, has an extensive history in diagnostics and laboratory
management. From 1997 to 2004, he served as Regional Vice President
and Operations Leader for Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, responsible
primarily for the Central United States. During his tenure at Quest,
he oversaw operations of approximately one-third of the company's
revenue, and he also helped lead Quest's integration of SmithKline
Beecham Labs, following their merger in 2000.
